WIXE DEPUTY OF THE MONTH DECEMBER 2025

Sheriff Eddie Cathey has selected Deputy Pilar Nieves as the Union County Sheriff’s Office Deputy of the Month for December 2025.

Deputy Nieves serves as a School Resource Officer assigned to Sardis Elementary School, where she has built strong and meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families. She is trusted not only as their law enforcement officer, but also as a teacher, mentor, and counselor. Her dedication to student safety and success shines through every day.

With a background in Criminal Investigations, Deputy Nieves brings a thorough and detailed approach to each case she handles. She consistently supports fellow SROs and other divisions across the agency, ensuring investigations are completed with professionalism and care.

As a bilingual officer, Deputy Nieves plays a vital role in bridging communication with Spanish-speaking students, parents, and community members, making her an invaluable asset to both UCSO and the school community.

Her passion for service and her commitment to providing a safe and secure learning environment does not go unnoticed. Deputy Nieves goes above and beyond in everything she does, and we are grateful for her contributions to the County and our agency.
