Over the weekend, deputies served a felony warrant on Sonja Kamiche. As deputies arrived at the residence, Sonja decided it would be a great idea to flee on foot. Apparently, she was under the impression that if she ran fast enough, all her troubles would simply disappear.

Little did she know, the deputy serving the warrant was a K9 handler.

Deputy Deese and his K9 partner, Homer, along with other deputies, began tracking Sonja through an open field toward Potter Road.

K9 Homer began pulling extremely hard toward a brush pile, where deputies found Sonja hiding to the best of her ability. Let’s just say that ability was lacking.

Sonja was arrested without incident and transported to the Union County Detention Center. She was issued a $13,000 secure bond and remains in custody.

Deputy Deese added:

“This is why we continuously perform training, so that when we are called upon, we can effectively serve our community.”
