Earlier this morning, deputies were dispatched to a residence in Brandon Oaks after a 5-year-old nonverbal child left his home in an unknown direction. The child’s mother immediately called 911 for assistance, and deputies arrived on scene at 7:13 a.m. The deputies and the mother began searching the neighborhood for the missing child.

Knowing that children are often drawn to water, deputies headed toward a nearby pond within the neighborhood. Thanks to their quick response and teamwork, deputies were able to safely locate the child within 10 minutes of arriving on scene.

We are extremely grateful this incident had a positive outcome and that the child was safely reunited with his family.
