Recently, deputies from Wingate, County Patrol, and the Public Affairs Unit came together at Wingate University, where students were hard at work giving back to the community and even reaching beyond to help others in different states.
These students assisted the First Responder Kits4Kids program by packing more than 1,000 kits. These trauma-style kits are designed to give law enforcement and first responders simple tools to help comfort children during service calls and other high-stress situations. These kits can help bring a sense of calm and a little bit of peace to a child who is on scene.
Since 2024, more than 15,000 of these kits have been distributed across numerous states and communities.
We’d like to give a big thank you to the Kits4Kids program, to the high school students in the Wayfind College Access Program, Wingate’s football team, and all the other students who took part in this event. It’s safe to say this was a true team effort and many will be affected by your generosity.
